Website from scratch - Part 08 - Data Manager
In this episode, we prepare the structurre of our data. Obviously we are going to use a database but before we get to it, we want to put the database as far away as possible from the code.
The way to do this is to use a DataManager. Our datamanager will give us access to simple functions that simply return the data no matter how it is saved. The data could be coming from XML, MySQL, a text file, or a floppy disk, all we care about is that the data is returned to us when we need it.
We will explore the structure to make this possible and quickly you will see the advantages of this technique.
Once we have all this setup, we will be able to receive data in the next episode.
